# Netzbeere - Translated Pi-hole Web Interface
Netzbeere is a fun blend of two worlds: "Netz," the German word for web, and "Beere," the German word for berry, giving a playful nod to everyone's favorite Raspberry Pi. With this project, you can enjoy Pi-hole's powerful ad-blocking features with a localized touch, making it even more accessible and user-friendly.
<img src="https://pi-hole.github.io/graphics/Screenshots/v6/v6_dashboard.png" alt="Pi-hole Web interface">
Pi-hole[®](https://pi-hole.net/trademark-rules-and-brand-guidelines/)'s Web interface (based off of [AdminLTE](https://github.com/ColorlibHQ/AdminLTE)) provides a central location to manage your Pi-hole and review the statistics generated by FTLDNS[](https://pi-hole.net/trademark-rules-and-brand-guidelines/).
- **Easy-to-interpret**: simple graphs and beautiful colors make Pi-hole's stats easy to understand
- **Responsive**: looks great on desktop, tablets, and mobile devices
- **Useful**: control and configure your Pi-hole with our settings
- **Insightful**: use the query log, including long-term stats to gain insight into your networks activity

# Installation
The Web interface is enabled by default when you install Pi-hole, but when you want to use this repo, you can follow one of this steps:
### 1. clone and run localy
Clone the official repo:
```bash
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/pi-hole/pi-hole/blob/master/automated%20install/basic-install.sh
cd "Pi-hole/automated install/"
```
Now change on line 82 the value of `webInterfaceGitUrl` into `https://gitea.zokki.net/zokki/netzbeere-web.git`.
After this, you can run the script:
```bash
sudo bash basic-install.sh
```
### 2. download the script
Download the official install script:
```bash
wget -O basic-install.sh https://install.pi-hole.net
```
Now change on line 82 the value of `webInterfaceGitUrl` into `https://gitea.zokki.net/zokki/netzbeere-web.git`.
After this, you can run the script:
```bash
sudo bash basic-install.sh
```
### 3. Docker
Please refer to the [Pi-hole docker repo](https://github.com/pi-hole/docker-pi-hole) to use the Official Docker Images.
But you have to build the image on your own and change in `Dockerfile` line 74 to use `https://gitea.zokki.net/zokki/netzbeere-web.git` instead of github to clone.
### 4. on already running repos
Please clean the `/var/www/html/admin/` directory, then clone the contents of this repository directly into it. Ensure that the contents of the repository are placed in the `admin` folder itself, not in a sub-folder.
## TODOs:
- finish the last translations
- the FTL/backend must be translated
## How to add a new language
The current languages are in [i18n/\<lang\>.ini](i18n/).
You just have to use the german translation and copy-paste the file, rename it to your language and now just translate the values into your language.
After this you can open a PR or use it on your own.
## Post-installation: access the Web interface and gain insight into your network's activity
There are several ways to access the dashboard:
1. `https://<IP_ADDRESS_OF_YOUR_PI_HOLE>/admin/`
2. `https://pi.hole/admin/` (when using Pi-hole as your DNS server)
3. `https://pi.hole/` (when using Pi-hole as your DNS server)
> [!TIP]
> You can access the web interface using `http://` or `https://` protocols.
Once logged in, you can view your network stats to see things like:
- the domains being queried on your network
- the time the queries were initiated
- the amount of domains that were blocked
- the upstream server queries were sent to
- the type of queries (`A`, `AAAA`, `CNAME`, `SRV`, `TXT`, etc.)

## Pi-hole is free, but powered by your support
There are many reoccurring costs involved with maintaining free, open source, and privacy-respecting software; expenses which [our volunteer developers](https://github.com/orgs/pi-hole/people) pitch in to cover out-of-pocket. This is just one example of how strongly we feel about our software, as well as the importance of keeping it maintained.
Make no mistake: **your support is absolutely vital to help keep us innovating!**
### Donations
Sending a donation using our links below is **extremely helpful** in offsetting a portion of our monthly expenses:
